Metronidazole (MNZ), is an antibiotic and antiprotozoal medication. It is used either alone or with other antibiotics to treat pelvic inflammatory disease, endocarditis, and bacterial vaginosis.
Furazolidone is used in the treatment of diarrhea or enteritis caused by bacteria. It may also be useful in treating traveler’s diarrhea, typhoid fever, cholera and salmonella infections.
Furazolidone works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Metronidazole kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.
Loperamide hydrochloride is indicated for the control and symptomatic relief of acute nonspecific diarrhea and of chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease.
